Blancpain : Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Day Date 70s

Following its 1956 debut – three years after the launch of the Fifty Fathoms –, the style of Blancpain’s Bathyscaphe evolved with the times. The 70s saw bold dial markings with Arabic numerals and windows for the day of the week and date at 3 o’clock. The new Bathyscaphe Day Date 70s, which will be limited to 500 pieces, captures the allure of that model while incorporating Blancpain’s current technical advances.

Blancpain : Villeret Tourbillon Volant Heure Sautante Minute Rétrograde

Blancpain is reinterpreting this year its flying tourbillon, which was the first of its kind to equip a wristwatch at the time of its launch in 1989. At Baselworld 2018, the Manufacture is pairing it with new complications – jump hours and retrograde minutes –
in the Villeret Tourbillon Volant Heure Sautante Minute Rétrograde model. In addition to the remarkable construction of the tourbillon, which appears to be floating on air, this new launch is distinguished by an entirely decorated movement and a grand feu enamel dial handcrafted in the Blancpain workshops.

Blancpain presents a new Traditional Chinese Calendar limited-edition to celebrate the Year of Dog

For the sixth consecutive year, Blancpain presents a limited-edition wristwatch equipped with the Traditional Chinese Calendar in tribute to this age-old culture. A horological complication exclusively developed by the Manufacture in Le Brassus, the Traditional Chinese Calendar is housed in a platinum case, while the movement’s oscillating weight is engraved with the symbol of the current lunar year. In 2018, the sign of the dog is thus highlighted on the back of this model.

Half a century ago, the 1968 Grand Prix Automobile of Monaco took place on the car circuit of Monte-Carlo. This prestigious event was won by the British, Sir Graham Hill and his Lotus Ford Cosworth. This year, is the 10th year anniversary of Ateliers deMonaco. In order to celebrate, the watch manufacture created a unique piece inspired by the official poster of this Grand Prix signed by Michael Turner.
